Using a separate pot in an electric pressure cooker

I bought the Sage electric pressure cooker several years ago and am really pleased with it. It's great for meals for the whole family etc but too big for just two of us.

Does anyone use a separate pot inside the pressure cooker? I've got a trivet for it to stand on but I'm not sure how much water I need to put in the bottom of the pressure cooker, whether the cooking times vary etc. And also - what do people use? I'm thinking either a pyrex bowl or a fixed base cake tin. I'd like to use it to cook risotto, rice, pasta dishes, small casseroles etc.

Finally, I'm thinking that I need to add less liquid to the casserole itself, since I'll have separate water in the pressure cooker? So less need to reduce the sauce?

I think they call this "pot in pot". There are lots of posts and recipes online on this for Instant Pot.

For IP, you need a cup of water as minimum, but don't know about Sage. Does the Sage manual cover minimum liquid requirements?

I use stainless steel bowls.

Thank you! Didn’t realise it had a name! The manual doesn’t mention pot-in-pot - but it does say minimum if 1 litre liquid and food combined. Will have a look on YouTube to find out more.
