Need to stock the freezer with midweek meals.

I'm sick of midweek dinners being stressful.

I have a free day on Saturday and would like to fill the freezer with a bit of bulk cooking.

We have a slow cooker but no microwave.

Me, DH, and teenage DS.

Give me your best suggestions, recipes, strategies.

BBC Good Food has some great slow cooker recipes. I’ve just started following a lovely lady ( think it’s Nic’s Northern Back Kitchen but will check & come back to you) who has some lovely recipes.

I make a vat of Bolognese and freeze ti be used for spag bol, lasagne, or chilli

I also batch cook lentils to add to stews & pasta dishes

Tomato sauce for pasta or any recipe requiring it

Also batch cook broth mixes, mashed potato & brown rice.

Boring but I make either a bolongaise or chilli in the oven with the Sunday roast. That's one night I don't need to worry about, I also do a "DIY" dinner night, appreciate this is not possible with under 10's and soup once a week in the winter.

I freeze batches of mash, roast potatoes and loaded skins along with home made casseroles, pies etc so there’s a whole meal to just take out to defrost in the morning
