Glass Tupperware

My current batch of plastic tupperware is so stained and knackered that most of the lids have given up and gone awol. I need new and I was wondering if anyone would recommend a glass base set that is suitable for a cook/freeze/nuke option?

I like the ones with the plastic lids and wrapover clips that are leak proof, stackable and, being a larger family, I want one with a 2.5 litre + dish in the mix - so that's all the Amazon ones out, I think.

I'm looking at the pyrex cook & go, the locknlock equivalent and wondering if their quality justifies the additional price over Ikea's range? I'm happy to shell out it they offer better longevity or if they are generally more robust but I'm not fussed about buying into a brand for its own sake.

Hmm not sure. I would have said Ikea but thinking about it, I have smashed one of their glass tupperware and one roasting dish (I think it’s the same range, I just didn’t buy the lid) whereas I have pyrex that are now decades old.

That's a worry minipie, not smashing is the bare minimum I'm looking for 😬😁

I’ve got ikea ones and despite being a total klutz have managed to break only 1 (dropped from a height, so I doubt any brand would have survived). They haven’t chipped either and the lids are robust. I bought a couple of cheapies from Aldi once and one of the lids’ clips broke almost instantly.

Have you ever taken it out of the freezer and then straight in the oven? Apparently you can do that with the pyrex dishes but then, honestly, I can't think of any time I've done that with home cooking and perhaps I'm just impressed by the (jazzy advert) claim.

I'm driving by an IKEA next week, I suppose I could get a tester subject and give it some grief.

It's good to know that the lids are robust though and I like the interchangeable bamboo lids too.
