Love fish and seafood but spent all of my adult life not eating it/cooking it at home.
For various (won't go into them here...) reasons we're reintroducing some into our diet. Still got some research to do on where/what to buy but also completely stuck on what to make!

So please, your purse-friendly easy fish or seafood meals....

Thanks :)

Tuna burgers - but I make this version if I’m not cooking for my dd as she doesn’t like teriyaki!
Fish tacos (or this version if you’re short on time!)
Thai fish curry
Prawn and pea risotto
Tuna meatballs
Tinned crab linguine
Prawn pilau

Following as just back from holiday in Majorca where I ate fresh fish at almost every meal and loved it, but at home have no ideas other than occasionally poaching or pan frying a fillet.

I quite often do simple things like pop cod, salmon, haddock, any fish really in foil with lemon, herbs, garlic and bake the parcels. Or just put in a dish with cherry tomatoes, courgette and peppers then bake. Or wrap cod in Parma ham and bake. We have those kind of things with baby potatoes or pesto pasta and veg.

We also eat a lot of fish based pasta and risotto. I love smoked fish with pasta and peas, just cooked gently in a pan with a bit of garlic, add pasta when cooked then stir through crème fraiche (also good with salmon and/or prawns). Smoked haddock risotto is lovely with a poached egg on top.

Or any curry that you make with chicken, just do the sauce as usual and put the fish in to poach for around 8 minutes at the end.

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal
Exactly the same happened to me. I went to an AI in January and had fresh fish cooked on hot plate for most meals and loved it
I cook fish lots more at home now

Tray bakes are always easy! This one went down well last night (used cubed potatoes & frozen fish fillets)

We also like salmon or white fish in a foil parcel with ginger, spring onion, soy sauce, chilli, that sort of thing. Miso coated fish with rice & steamed / stir fried veg. Or coated with pesto & breadcrumbs with mediterranean style veg.

Agree with the tacos, also these prawn ones were quite nice for a change: www.recipetineats.com/prawn-tacos-shrimp/

Smoked mackerel salad with new potatoes, beetroot & celery, horseradish & yoghurt / mayo / sour cream dressing.

I mix tuna with mayo, yoghurt, chopped gherkins, finely chopped red onion & sometimes red pepper (or those tiny sweetie drop ones) & have with chopped salad & hard boiled egg, black olives or just with jacket spuds & salad.

Fishcakes? These are nice www.gousto.co.uk/cookbook/recipes/smoky-chipotle-fish-cakes-with-chilli-corn-lime-mayo

Gousto worth a look for lots of their fish recipes tbh - we've made quite a few and don't remember any we didn't enjoy.

Thank you everyone! I've compiled a long list that I'm going to try in the coming weeks.
Where do you buy fish from? Fishmonger, fresh from supermarket or frozen? I have no idea what's value for money...

Fish pie is a winner and making a big dish means more meals.

Curry
Fish cakes
Laid on a bed of spinach and ricotta and wrapped in pastry
With a Lidl bottle of chilli sauce toppled all over it
Cream,salmon and leeks on toast.
Just with jackets and salad
Male your own fish and chips.
Fish fingers
Baked whole
Go onto good food or olive or delicious magazine website op there will be hundreds.
