What is it? I haven't got any. Does the recipe need baking powder or bicarb of soda? I am making Ak's coconut kisses. I am guessing they are a biscuit type thing.

I'm also confused. I saw a thread about unblocking a sink with bicarbonate of soda - presumably this is different to baking soDA,

baking soda is bicarb AND baking powder

for biscuits you tend to need bicarb ..it comes in a pot .. you use it for chocolate cakes too

don't know the recipe you're talking about though

bicarb of soda is also a good natural cleaner and descaler (when used with vinegar)

If you want something to rise, you need to use baking power, which is a blend of bicarbonate of soda and tartaric acid.

Baking soda needs to react with an acid to produce carbon dioxide, and when you wet tartaric acid, it does the trick,

I went with the bicarb and they are in the oven now.
