Frozen meals that are quick to reheat

My dad is in his 70s and has lost a lot of weight / appetite / energy recently (GP is investigating) but in the meantime I want to be able to batch cook some meals that are quick and easy to reheat from frozen as he's going for easy options like sandwiches and toast. He needs to get at least one hearty meal in a day (no issue with eating once he's got it by the way). We've already tried ready meals but he's not using them up in time so this would be my next attempt (I work full time so I can't go over in the week to sort out his lunch).
Any good recipes or ideas would be very much appreciated xx

Wiltshire Farm Foods. My DB lived alone, terminally ill and found these a godsend. Easy to reheat and decent quality.

What is more important ease or speed? Reason for asking is some of the easiest, all in one, cook from frozen options (like cottage pie and lasagne) that you can put straight in the oven in those single serve foil take-out tins can take 40 mins+ to thoroughly heat through, but they are completely hands off, put in oven, set timer, eat. Faster options that can be reheated on the hob (like curries and pasta sauces) often require an additional carb to be prepared like rice and pasta.

Speed probably, which is why I'm a bit stuck. I know that if he thinks he's got to spend too long waiting then he'll just make a sandwich which is why he's lost so much weight. It's not like him at all, but it's become a habit through tiredness over the last year or so.

Thank you both - I'm hoping it will all be fairly short term until they find out what the cause is x

Does your council do meals on wheels? Mine does them for anyone who asks, you get a hot meal and a pudding for just over £5.

Does he have a slow cooker? You can get small ones.

Chop and prep food and put in a sc liner and freeze. The night before he can get the bag out and put it in the slow cooker to defrost (sc switched off) the night before and just add boiling water in the morning.

Could you 'package up' some frozen food eg you can get multi bags of rice, put one in Tupperware with some veg a sauce that can be microwaved?

If this is just about getting some weight on him could you buy puddings / cakes. I know it isn't the healthiest.

I live alone so if I make something like a shepherd's pie I make the meat and potato and then assemble it in foil containers to freeze, these take about 30 mins in a conventional oven.

Just a thought - sandwich toastie bags with premade sandwiches he can put in the toaster.

I think if he's into soup I'd make up some really good thick soups so he can do on hob or in microwave. With some nice bread and cheese.

Would he take stuff out to defrost overnight as that will reduce heating time? Or failing that, can you get some easy side dishes to go with toasties? Turn it into a better meal by adding a veg/salad side and a dessert (yoghurt and fruit, custard and pie etc).

Thank you everyone, no meals on wheels but I do think I need to remind him to take out what he wants the night before and get him more organised. He's getting a bit forgetful which doesn't help, but all these ideas are really good and definitely worth a try xxx
