Who is the Delia Smith of Slow Cooking?

I am trying to use my slow cooker a bit more and I have borrowed a couple of books from the library to help me. However, everything I seem to make with meat in is pretty horrid (I am veggie and DH informs me of the 'failures'). I was wondering if anyone had fool-proof, Delia-esque recipes that WILL be good.

I make a lovely Italian type stew in mine:

bung stewing steak into slow clooker - mine can go directly onto hob so I can brown the meat in it which is handy!! Add onions then bung in sauce.

SAUCE: (cheats way of getting veg into kids!)

tin toms
3 - 4 roasted red peppers out of jar(if I ahve them or 1 -2 normal red peppers if I don't!)
1 courgette

garlic - lots!

herbs - usually basil n oregano as they're my faves but mixed herbs will do

blitz tog then bung in slow cooker with meat.

Leave on low all day so meat is nice n tender. Thicken with tomato puree. Serve with pasta and crsuty bread!

SPAG BOL

brown mince, add onions, bung in same sauce. leave on all day - flavours nice n intense. Serve with spaghetti. I know it's not a traditional spag bol but my kids adore it!

I also do my Sunday roasts in my slow cokker. brown them off, leave them in the SC on low for a few hours and the meat just falls off the bone. I do chicken, beef, pork in there.

Have fun!

can make a chilli version of the pag bol - change herbs. Add chilli and kidney beans!

I should be on commission the amount of times I have recommended this book!

Nab3, thats one of the books I have been using. I have done some nice veggie dishes from it, but I seem to pick the bad meat ones.

Thanks Leslaki

Not a book as such but there are some great recipes here. Love Recipe Tzar!
