Does Cadburys cocoa powder contain lactose? Would probably be horrid made up with water, but perhaps with rice milk?

Could she have hot honey and lemon, or a herbal tea instead?

Has she tried the lactose free milk?

I haven't found one yet, altho admit to not looking overly hard as I not a huge fan of hot chocolate.

but

when I am in need, I have melted some of the chocolate I can have (ie, green and blacks 70%), added hot milk, then topped up with some hot water adding sugar to taste.

tis rather nice

(BTW, thortons do a tub of chocolate flakes that you can sprinkle on top of creamy hot choc, and the ingredients say no milk etc......they can also be made up as above into a chocolate drink)

For my lacotse intolerant ds i just grate G+B into some warm soya or rice milk - he likes it - tbh i'm not sure hot chocolate will help her sleep, i'd betempted to suggest relaxtion therapies, baths with a few drops of lavender oil in, no tea/coffee/chocolate after 3pm that sort of thing.

psychomum5 · 17/01/2008 10:47

you know what may help with sleep issues....

I have a cup of cammommile tea mixed with a summer berry merry tea and honey.

tis lovely, and I balked at it to start with as I hate ordinary tea with a passion (bluergh)..

I think Twinings hot chocolate is lactose free. Obviously, you will need to mix it with lactose free milk re placement, or I mix it with water.

Cadbury's doesn't contain lactose as it only has cocoa powder and sugar in it.

You could also just mix pure cocoa powder with your own sweetner and add soy/rice/almond/oat/quinoa milk!

I had a look this morning and nesquik powder also seems to be lactose free
