Gluten free - can you give me a couple of short cuts for a party?

I'm last minute panic planning party food and cake for my DDs party. One of the guests needs gluten free food. Her mum is always happy to pack a lunch bag for her but for a change I'd love to say she didn't have to.

I was planning on packing little lunch boxes with crisps, little roll, party sausages, carrots or grapes, juice, sweets or cake. I'd also love to buy a birthday cake that was gluten free as the little girl can never gets to have a pice of anyones birthday cake but her own.

Can you give me any ideas for easy stuff I can pick up at Tesco? I know Walkers crisps are fine .........

I know the supermarkets tend to have a 'free from' aisle where you will find gluten free stuff without having to search about too much.

If you have a big supermarket, the free from aisle tends to be quite good. I have found Sainsbury's to have a better range than tesco, but this could be just my area. They do ahve gluten free cakes - I have only noticed muffin types rather than a big cake, but you never know. M&S have also started to do the odd bit (got mince pies for dd there at Christmas) so again, you never know.

If you are lanning on putting sausages into this girls lunch box, check the ingredients - most sausages have gluten in.

You could also try online (goodness direct and dietary needs direct both have a big range of gluten free stuff, and deliver quickly)

Otherwise, Nigella's clementine cake is gluten free, and quite easy to make?
