dried fruit?

Cappuccino · 13/01/2008 13:47

hmm maybe

that would be easy to get out wouldn't it

I keep thinking I will have bits of melon and then I think 'oh all that chopping' and give up

the best thing to do is ban all food when watching TV

if you find a way to do this let me know

dooley1 · 13/01/2008 13:49

or you could try yoghurt covered raisins

dangerous the yogurty coating

I can eat a whole packet of yogurt covered brazil nuts which are as bad as chocolate

Grapes
Microwave popcorn (without butter added)
Sugar free/low cal hard candy
Flavoured rice cakes
Low fat/no fat fruit yoghurt
Diet Hot Chocolate (some sorts much better than others)

DON'T EAT IN FRONT OF THE TELLY!!!

It's lethal!

Just focus on the programme. Or if you have to, find something else to do with your hands instead of keep bringing them up to your gob. Knitting, sewing, doodling, anything.

Alternatively, you could stop watching telly and do sit ups instead.

exhausted by effort of just typing that..need a little lie down now...

Cappuccino · 13/01/2008 14:00

what was that?

OP posts:
BBBee · 13/01/2008 14:01

museli
yoghurt
fizzy water

skerriesmum · 13/01/2008 14:04

Trail mix with a few chocolate chips or buttons mixed in. Gives you that "hit" with a bit of protein and fiber as well.

Cappuccino · 13/01/2008 14:04

I do get what you are saying Hecate but my resistance is low at present because I am ill - I don't have anything like hte energy for sit-ups (though I would love tohave)

dh is going away next week for 2 weeks and I am ordering in lots of good films/ tv series from lovefilm because I know that being ill and alone is going to make me low, so I wanted to give myself a treat

thus it is not the time for self-denial, but I need to steer clear of chocolate because it is one of my downfalls

get one of those ab balls (mine is actually ds's space hopper) and do sit ups whilst watching tv. Even the peresence of the ball in the room will stop you eating.

Cappuccino · 13/01/2008 15:14

what is it with you lot and sit-ups?

this being mumsnet, I half expected someone to turn up making weak innuendo out of 'nibble on'

but I was not prepared for this keep fit freakery

I want something to eat goddamnit

OP posts:
southeastastra · 13/01/2008 15:15

boiled sweets, jelly tots, wine gums, sherbert, i could go on.

BBBee · 13/01/2008 15:18

nibble on nuts then.

Cappuccino · 13/01/2008 15:18

now how does sherbet qualify as 'more healthy' SEA?

we have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous here

sit ups or sherbert

no in between

southeastastra · 13/01/2008 15:29

Rice crackers
Ginger biscuits (dunk in tea?)

Not that healthy but less fattening than chocolate!

Anna8888 · 13/01/2008 16:16

Water - make yourself a water bar with lots of different brands and levels of fizz. Get yourself some beautiful new glasses

Herbal tea - ditto get some really lovely ones and some new and beautiful mugs or cups

Countingthegreyhairs · 13/01/2008 16:35

Agree with sewing or knitting idea.

I do patchwork, embroidery or tapestry. Chocolate and a piece of clean material in which you have invested much time and effort do not mix. (But there again, I am ancient .... )

luminarphrases · 13/01/2008 16:43

i found limiting myself to a square of nice dark chocolate worked, i was still getting my fix, but not eating loads
