Delia Smith. What?!

Can anyone explain this please? I have been looking for a loaf recipe and keep coming across this instruction on Delia's site:

You will need a Delia 1lb Loaf Tin (or a standard 2lb loaf tin)

Why is 1lb for Delia 2lb for anyone else? (Apologies if I am being thick. Baking novice here.) I have looked at said tin in her online shop but it doesn't say anything about it being a special size/shape.

She says this for all her recipes to promote her own range. Just use what you have, her recipes are very reliable.

That's strange. Just use a standard 1lb loaf tin. It seems the most logical. Not sure why her recipe would magically double in size if it in her branded tins 😂 Typo maybe?

The Delia Online Loaf Tin made by Silverwood is called, by Silverwood and fellow tradesmen, a 1lb loaf pan/tin because it was originally sold to bakers as a 1lb pan and produced a 1lb loaf. However, many manufactures who also produce loaf pans/tins call the equivalent sized tin a 2lb tin because it actually holds 2lb of wet mixture.

Therefore a Silverwood 1lb loaf tin, a Delia Online/Silverwood tin or a traditional 2lb loaf tin are all the same size. Confusing we know!

A 2lb long loaf tin is not a shape that is suited to Delia’s loaf cakes.

Ah didn't see this. She gives an explanation why though. Seems perfectly logical tbh

A short explanation from Silverwood on the size our our Loaf Tin:

I think what she is saying is that a 2lb LONG loaf tin which measures 31.5 x 14 x 5cm) is not suitable. Like this: www.lakeland.co.uk/32225/zenker-glass-fibre-silicone-2lb-loaf-pan

Thank you all! So I used my usual loaf tin, which (I have just learned) is a 2lb one.
The house smells like gingerbread now... x x
