Golden rice

I want to recreate that golden rice that comes in sachets.

I've googled and all I can find are recipes for real Chinese rice soak in egg or gm yellow rice.

Does anyone have a recipe or a suggestion for rice to go with tandoori chicken wings please?

I'm not confident with cooking rice but I'm going to try the 10min method first then let it cool and make it later.

It'll just be flavorings and spices. Can you share the sachet you want to copy?

Btw - the easiest solution really is just going to be to buy the sachets.

Its this sort of thing. I've got onion, garlic, peppers, sweetcorn and peas. No saffron.

Following because I've never managed to recreate it. Turmeric makes the rice yellow, but it doesn't taste the same

Chicken stock cube, garlic powder and onion powder would be my first step.

Ingredient list of that brand would suggest turmeric

Long Grain Rice (84%), Dried Vegetables (9%) (Red Pepper, Peas, Carrot, Onion, Sweetcorn, Green Beans), Yeast Extract Powder, Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium 5'-Ribonucleotides), Flavourings, Salt, Vegetable Oils (Sunflower, Palm), Potassium Chloride, Dried Glucose Syrup, Concentrated Lemon Juice Powder, Ground Turmeric, Milk Fat

Ok thanks, I've got stock cubes, turmeric, onion and garlic powder. I'll use those and add a pinch of curry powder too. I'll add onion, peppers, peas and maybe more chopped garlic just because I like garlic. And put sweetcorn on the side.

My tandoori chicken wings are marinading now 😋

not golden rice at all, but my favourite rice to pair with tandoori/Indian style dishes is my grandads carrot rice. It has a beautiful slightly sweet and delicate flavour, fantastic with lamb especially.

Fry diced shallot, cinnamon stick, cloves, and cardamon pods in a little oil and butter. Once onion is soft and spices fragrant add in rice and grated carrot, stir to evenly combine. Cover in water (or veg/chicken stock), cover with a lid, and allow to cook.

Is that like Nando's rice? I've seen lots of fakeaway recipes for it.

That sounds nice.

Fry off the veggies in butter first. Liquid seasoning. Add more butter.
