Anyone else celebrating a chocolate-free Easter?

Does anyone on here have any experience of this please?

My dc are dairy intolerant. And since menopause, I don't seem to tolerate chocolate any more either. So this will be my first year celebrating Easter without any chocolate at all.

So I'd appreciate some ideas for alternative things that I can buy, cook or bake to present to my dds on Easter Sunday please, and also to bake for puddings after lunch (we will be having lamb) or for eating at tea time. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I buy my DD a dairy free Easter. This year she’s getting the NOMO cookie dough crunch egg. Her granny always gets her the rice milk chicks from Cocoa Libre. I’ll get some individually wrapped mini eggs from D&D chocolates for an Easter egg hunt. Personally I’m hoping for a Buttermilk salted caramel egg! It’s dairy free too.

For breakfast on Easter Sunday, I’ll serve Asda’s Easter bunny crumpets as I have done for the past umpteen years, even though the dc are probably too old! I’ve also spotted these hot cross bun wheats which I’ll get for breakfast on Good Friday!

I haven’t tried them yet, but the M&S plant kitchen hot cross buns have received amazing reviews so far, so I’ll get some next time I head that way.

For treats and desserts, I like the look of this carrot cake and these iced biscuits made with an egg-shaped cutter.

I really appreciate all of these suggestions!

Love the look of the bunny wheats!

Simnel cake if you want to be traditional, you can buy them if you don’t want to bake.

Eggs on your bunny crumpets

New Jersey’s with your lamb, with mint ofc

Lemon posset for post lamb pudding, with shortbread if you want

And if you just want something simple at some point over the weekend then I guess your basic frozen pea soup is pretty spring like

Those are all lovely ideas, thank you Luredbyapomegranate I'd forgotten all about simnel cake!

New pots & mint sauce with lamb will be delicious. Might do some baby charred leeks too.

And I love the idea of pea soup for a starter or made in to a dip or for bruschetta.

My DC can't have the cream in a posset though so another idea for a lemony, dairy free Easter pudding would be good!
