The Ikea one thats like Tupperware container that you put one of the the grater pieces on, grate cheese, then store with the plstic lid on.

Buda · 07/01/2008 11:43

LOL at thread title!

Are you planning in grating the fish?

frumpygrumpy · 07/01/2008 11:45

oh bum

thank you..... and for asking after the fish

This is the Ikea one

I'm also a fan of the mouli , less so now I use the Ikea one though

frumpygrumpy · 07/01/2008 11:47

I like the IKEA one, does the cheese end up inside or all over the bunker?

Do children find the mouli easy? (Since I will have my arms cut off for killing the fish)

Ah, to be an OXO mum.

Invest in a Microplane - more expensive than other graters but far more effective.

largeginandtonic · 07/01/2008 11:53

The oxo one is great FG. So is my mil's no idea what it is though, have been searching for it everywhere >

How may you have killed the fish? Over zealous clening of the fish tank with bleach perhaps

BettySpaghetti · 07/01/2008 11:54

The mouli is safer in that theres no chance of grating your knuckles but it is a PITA to clean.

With the Ikea one it (mostly) falls into the container.

I don't think theres such a thing as a non-messy and easy clean contraption anywhere (unless someone comes on and posts about a super-duper and tells me different )

WendyWeber · 07/01/2008 11:54

Bog standard suits me and they have them in supermarkets etc

WendyWeber · 07/01/2008 11:56

Or if you want to look flash there's a 6-sided one

Dead easy to clean, just run under tap then stick in dishwasher (or scrub with brush if you need it again NOW)

here LG&T

Thank you girls, I knew this was the place to ask. All shapes and sizes. This thread will reassure men.

OP posts:
WendyWeber · 07/01/2008 12:01

Which men? Have you got men at your house needing to grate cheese?

MerryPIFFLEmas · 07/01/2008 12:10

microplane tis awesome
we also rate the ikea one too
we have both but for parmesan or large amounts the microplane kicks ass

ChasingSquirrels · 07/01/2008 12:10

We have one similar to that ikea link, but from tesco (if that would be easier for you to get to) - one container, 2 grater lids (large and small) and a plastic lid to seal it if you want to store the grated cheese inside. Was £2.50 as I recall.

frumpygrumpy · 07/01/2008 12:42

PMSL Wendy . I mean men will read and be reassured that all shapes and sizes are welcomed in every woman's home Do men grate cheese? Do they not carve up with hefty forearms, into slabs a ploughman would drool over?

So many styles! Will need to hold each near my body to see what shape suits me best
