Can someone teach me a simple beautiful spaghetti dish?

I love spaghetti but I'm an awful cook and I also hate cooking.

But I've been to several restaurants recently wanting a simple, fresh spaghetti dish. No meat or fish. Not soaked in sauce, not pesto. I've not found anything good (no good Italian restaurant near me)

Can anyone teach me something really fresh and simple please?

I'd also stir a good handful of rocket into many of these simple dishes just before serving for a splash of colour and pepperiness. And use fresh spaghetti or linguine at least occasionally - it tastes completely different.

Tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil (or dried) plenty of ground black pepper and salt if you want it. Finally half a teaspoon of sugar.cook gently until softened and then stir in cooked spaghetti serve with more pepper and Parmesan cheese.
Carbonara is another very easy you need eggs, bacon or parma ham and garlic. Plenty of seasoning and Parmesan when serving. You can add fresh cream. Google recipe.
You can added anything to the basic tomato sauce, meatballs, seafood, salmon flakes or smoked salmon, chicken, bacon or other vegetables.
I use fresh plum tomatoes and skin and de seed them before chopping and cooking also I often add red pepper (chargrilled) it adds sweetness and gives a more rounded flavour.

Cook pasta. Drain 95% of the water. Add handful of frozen petits pois and allow to warm through in the residual heat. Add a tablespoon of cream cheese, put the lid on and keep it all moving until the pasta is coated. Add smoked bacon/cured sausage/some kind of smoky, porky product.

Gently cook slices of garlic in a little olive oil. Before they brown, take it off the heat. Add shredded lemon peel and and few drops of juice and leave it sitting whilst you cook pasta. Add a small amount of chilli oil just before you toss the pasta in it. Sprinkle some sea salt on top. Vary this by leaving out the chilli and adding peas, broad beans or courgette. Or dropping some fresh rosemary in there.

I really like spaghetti with green pesto sauce, fried pancetta, frozen peas and lots of grated parmesan - very quick and very tasty, from the Mumsnet cookbook, if I remember..
