Hi!
I'm really wanting to start eating good meals but I have no idea where to start! I'm awful at cooking, like I could burn a cup of tea. Does anyone have any simple recipes I could try?
Tia

My Dad once put the wrong gas ring on and instead of boiling the kettle, set the chip pan on fire so I do understand about burning a cup of tea.
What do you like eating?
There were some quick recipes here.

Carbonara is an easy one. You just need pasta like linguine, some cream, some parmesan, some eggs, some bacon, bit of garlic.

BBC Food has some beginner recipes.

Spag bol is another easy and popular dish.

Stew is another, beef strips, whichever vegetables you want and dumplings, great done in the slow cooker.

What would you like to make and we can tell you what you need.

Sign up to Hello Fresh or Gusto for a month. It will give you some simple meals to cook and help you to build confidence.
Keep the recipe cards and next time buy the ingredients yourself.
Get a second hand copy of Delia Smith's How To Cook and work through it.
Cooking isn't hard really, it's a matter of confidence, following instructions, and then once you understand the basic principles of heat, caramelisation, how flavours work together etc you can make up your own from what's in the fridge!
Cooking is a joy once you have enough skill (not that much needed) that you don't make anything inedible or waste money.
Good luck !

I'm very plain! I love super noodles, like I'd have them every night if I could😂I'm very into pasta, like lasagne, Mac and cheese. And bread so very much carby food. I love eggs, chicken but again is something I'd have with bread. Fish finger sandwiches! Haha

Invest in a Pinch of Nom cookbook. Easy recipes which are very healthy and tasty. A clear favorite in my household.

The Quick Roasting Tin is a great cookbook, very simple recipes.

You can build on the things you already like. Fish fingers can be wrapped in tortillas with guacamole, jalapenos and lettuce.
Noodle soup with dried egg noodles, a bag of stir-fry veg and cooked in stock made with stock cubes. Throw some raw prawns in there.

I learned to cook when I was weaning DS, nearly 14 years ago. I was all about the frozen processed foods until then, with recipes I could "cook" limited to a cheese sauce with pasta, mushrooms and bacon (like a carbonara), a chilli made with Schwartz sachet mix and jars of sauces for spaghetti Bolognese, pasta bakes etc. I started with a Good Food subscription and learned it was easier than I thought if I followed everything meticulously. Now I just go on the website. If you search for easy recipes or quick recipes, lots will come up for you to try.

Do you make the lasagne and macaroni cheese yourself? If so there are loads of dishes using similar skills. Cauliflower cheese, cottage pie, fish pie etc.

Other simple things would be
pasta arabiata
Fritata
Tuna pasta bake
Peppers stuffed with cous cous, veg and mozerella.
Paprika chicken skewers

Tuna and potato salad
Fish pie
Cooking is easy
Try a omelette
