My dd is not keen on being spoon fed now, and attempts to do it herself means not much goes in! I need some ideas for finger food! Thanks

I tend to add mashed potato to most things which can them be moulded into little balls.
I've given flakes of salmon, or tiny little squares of sandwiches, little bits of broccoli florets. not had much success with fruit or pasta yet.

eggy bread
mashed potato - she will probably make a mess, but enjoyable

Any veggie batons - parsnips, carrot, sweet potato.

My dd adored picking up peas and sweetcorn at that age - I always watched her carefully to make sure she didn't choke.

Small pieces of meat if you've introduced it - it's amazing how even if they've got no teeth they may like chewing on a piece of chicken!

Annabel Karmel has got some nice recipes, like some veggie burger things consisting of grated carrot, grated potato etc.

Often whilst the babe is fiddling around picking up some finger food I found they were quite amenable to you shoving a spoonful of puree in!

'missy independent' chapter of Cooking for Coco has lovely recipes

to avoid lots of cooking i tried to give dd a portion of what we were having for tea. not always possible tho, and you have to cook without salt etc. but it does cut down on your work and plus i found it really hard to think of different things too. a book called finger foods by jennie maizels is quite good. i got it on amazon

my ds has just started to really enjoy banana and tinned pear quarters as finger food. i usually have to give him a rice cake to mess with when spoon feeding him, as he seems to hate the whole spoon thing at the moment, and wants to just put his hands in his dinner!
