Give me some ideas for batch cooking

Hello,
I’m thinking of batch cooking instead of cooking every night to save time after work. I tend to batch cook spaghetti bolognaise as my youngest loves it but what else can I batch cook?
I have a slow cooker and soup maker that don’t get used much!
Thanks Smile

Have a look at The Batch Lady. She has some great family friendly recipes that have become staples in our house.

I made 16 portions of chilli today!!

I made this at the weekend: tomato red lentil soup: you can scale up to batch cook:
1 onion finely chopped
3 garlic cloves minced
1 level tap caraway seeds
1 cup of finely chopped carrot
2 large sticks of celery finely chopped
1 red pepper finely chopped
1 level tsp smoked paprika
1 vegetable stock cube
2 cups red lentils
2 tins cheap chopped tomatoes
Water, about 6 tinfuls (you can rinse the tins out with the water)

Fry the onion, garlic and caraway for 5 mins. Add the carrot, celery, pepper and fry for another 7 mins, or until soft and getting a bit of golden brown colour .

Add all the other ingredients and simmer for 40 minutes or until the lentils are soft.

Blend it with a handheld immersion blender, or in a food processor (but be careful if the soup is hot).

If you don't have the caraway you can skip it, but it adds a depth of flavour that is amazing.

If you have a slow cooker, I'd also recommend a simple chicken casserole- put small whole potatoes at the bottom with a chopped onion, 2 large carrots cut into thirds, 2 bay leaves, a chicken stock cube, 1 tbs plain flour, 1/2 tsp thyme and 1/2 tsp rosemary, a cup of water, 1 heaped tsp tomato puree and 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce, then lay some skinless chicken things on top. Cook on low for 7 hours. As a one-pot meal it is great, and there is usually enough for a soupy lunch next day too.
