Hi all,
I got an Instant Pot + air fryer today because my slow cooker had cracked.
Please can you give me your top tips for using it and what I can cook in it.
I'm a bit nervous of pressure cooking 🤷🏼‍♀️ why!

There are several Instant Pot groups on Facebook

Yes, or the best way to find out how to cook something is often .

The only real 'rules' with the instant pot is that sugary things will catch on the bottom easily. So if you're going to do something like spaghetti bolognese, layer your onions on the bottom first, then your mince, then your tomatoes on top.

The other thing to think about is how much moisture foods release when they're cooked. If it's something that absorbs water, you need to add more. But if you have something like mushrooms in your recipe, you need to remember that the mushrooms will release water, so you don't want to start out with too much.

Have a play - you'll soon get the hang of it.

Just remember with the instant pot that you need to add a lot more time than the recipe states for it to get to pressure and then naturally release. It's definitely not instant!

I need to try and start using mine again as I find it a faff, I make daal, cook whole chickens and prove dough but that's about it!!

(Beef) Brisket cooked in the instant pot is divine.

As is pulled pork.

It's great for mashed potato. They are so much softer and better in the pressure cooker. As @feliznavidad2 said, it's great for tenderising meat like pulled pork, brisket. I do shredded Mexican chicken thighs and make chicken nachos as well. If you eat pulses they cook to the texture of canned, which can be nearly impossible with some types on the stovetop.
