What to serve with NYD steak pie

We are hosting my inlaws for New Year's Day. Ginormous steak pie ordered from the local farm shop but what should we serve with it?

I'm all for roasted veggies and cauli cheese. DH thinks mash and peas are the only option. What would you have with your steak pie?

Yy to cauliflower cheese.

I'd also do garlic roasted tenderstem broccoli and green beans.

Always do mash, carrots and peas with ours. Though one year I had such a banging hangover on NYD I served it with roast tatties (courtesy of Auntie Bettie), peas and sweet corn as I could not cope with the thought of peeling, chopping, boiling and what have you!!

Posh cheese mash finished off in the oven with yet more cheese and breadcrumbs to give a lovely crisp topping. Any cheese you like but a bit of parmesan goes well in the topping too.
Never had any leftovers yet -- you can make it ahead of time. It will sit in the fridge for a couple of days, you just sprinkle over the topping and give it a good blast in the oven when the pie goes in.

Greens of your choice. Always mash or chips with pie imo and extra gravy

It's quite disconcerting to get hungry reading about a year-old thread. All those meals have been and gone. Going to make root mash this week though!
