How to make this lentil bake less dry and crumbly?

I made the above recipe earlier for my DC - it was very nice but a bit crumbly. Could adding an extra egg make it stick together better perhaps?

It was also slightly dry - is there any way to make a recipe like this more moist?

Lastly, when cooking in the oven I lined the dish with non-stick baking paper to prevent sticking, not sure if that's correct...

Any tips/advice welcome!

I would add a big potato, chopped, to be boiled with lentils. But I would make sure to mash it.

An extra egg would be the first thing I tried to make it hold together better. Did you use the full recommended amount of stock? Was it a little over baked or just a dry recipe do you think?

Are you using the right lentils?

I found the same with that recipe but I've had success with this one:

I've used the basic bare bones of the recipe but taken out the cheese and tomato, subbed the veggies and added some curry powder to vary the flavour and that also stayed together fine. I think I did it with sweet potato chunks and peas :)

Thanks everyone. Yes, I used the full amount of stock and the right lentils. Perhaps taking it out of the oven a bit sooner would help?

I will also try an extra egg next time!

when I've made lentil bake I add single cream and a healthy handful of grated cheese to keep it moist and better flavoured.
