It’s not exactly a balanced diet.

Why do you ask?

SleepingStandingUp · 17/12/2021 11:09

So rice, veg and fish mainly?

bestdhever · 17/12/2021 11:09

Well it depends on what you mean by sushi...if you are having a variety of sushi then I don't see the problem. They have veggies, fish etc. The word sushi refers to the rice.

LakeShoreD · 17/12/2021 11:11

It would get very expensive… but aside from the cost of it I don’t see why not with the variety of sushi there is.
Why??

Ozanj · 17/12/2021 11:13

Yes you can. It is a really balanced diet. When I lived in Japan I had sushi for breakfast, lunch and dinner but combined it with miso for dinner

bg92 · 17/12/2021 11:42

It's the only thing I can keep down.

Thanks for the replies, makes me feel better!

If it’s the only thing you can keep down, are you pregnant or just ill?

bestdhever · 17/12/2021 11:57

If it's the only thing you can keep down then you could also try the Korean kimbap version OP (they have more fillings basically) but you can do whatever's outside want with sushi really.

guardiansofthegalaxychocs · 17/12/2021 11:58

Probably a lot worse things to live off.

Otherpeoplesteens · 17/12/2021 11:59

By and large sushi is regarded as a healthy food. It should certainly be a complete set of nutrition.

However, if it was all you ate I'd be worried about getting enough fibre, and if you're pregnant my concern would be that the fish which are high in iron also tend to be high in mercury.

Otherpeoplesteens · 17/12/2021 11:59

Also, soy sauce has a high sodium content.

SilverRingahBells · 17/12/2021 12:04

If you're pregnant then you really do need to watch your mercury intake if you're including a lot of fish, especially tuna or swordfish.
Likewise if you're eating a lot of rice then try and cook it in a way that would minimise arsenic.

Summerofcontent · 18/12/2021 08:05

The only thing you can't eat exclusively for a long period of time is rabbit

SilverRingahBells · 18/12/2021 09:01

Actually there's quite a lot of foods that you can't eat exclusively, because you'll get scurvy, as many sailors found to their cost, but nowadays it's pretty easy to top up with vitamin C pills.

Why? Are you a teenager heading into Ed territory?
