Do you use a Rosemary stripper?

I'm struggling for original ideas for my mum's stocking. I know she hates picking rosemary apart so wondered if one of those stripping tools might be good? But they all seem to have rubbish reviews! If you use one, is it any good? Which brand?

I didn't know such a thing exists.

No! Never heard of such a thing and unnecessary I would have thought! You can strip a branch of rosemary in seconds by drawing it through your fingers.

How about visiting Spice Mountain for her stocking? They have lots of interesting ingredients available that are stocking sized. Lovely jars of cardamom and saffron?

Pastry brushes are always useful?

Or melon ballers?

Good quality sea salt flakes?

Top quality vanilla extract or jars of ras el hanout?

A small bottle of elderflower cordial or sloe gin?

A very sharp pair of small scissors would work well. I've got a herb mill from Sainsbury's and it's rubbish.

Nip on to www.sous chef.com and get her a lovely hamper or even just a random selection of delicious treats.

No one needs a rosemary stripper.

Now a thyme stripper I could get behind, - although my solution is to rinse it and pat dry and lob it in then fish the stalks out at the end of cooking.

Rosemary is so easy to hand strip!

justasking111 · 12/12/2021 00:26

I have a pair of surgical scissors for removing fiddly bits

itwasntaparty · 12/12/2021 01:24

I use my fingers. Unless she's arthritic and struggles no one needs a Rosemary stripper.

A cherry or olive stoner might be more useful, or some ceramic baking beans, and you can never have too many measuring spoons.

I've never heard of one, but I was also going to suggest SousChef.
They have all kinds of lovely things.

I saw a nifty herb stripper recently that had different sized holes for different herbs. I can’t for the life of me remember where but google might throw something up?
