Simple but delicious for bring and share

Morning - I'm at a complete blank to what to take to a bring share at our daughters sports club. It's an evening do. Any suggestions welcome please - also working on that day and short on time so something I can make ahead or is quick for when I get in from work.

Savoury or sweet?

Something like fudgy chocolate brownies might be popular and fairly easy and quick to whip up (but is quite a 'treat' so hopefully acceptable!).

Is it a fork buffet or finger buffet?

Mini savoury tarts like jam tarts but maybe cheese and onion or something like that as a filling.

Tabbouleh? Couscous, tomatoes, oniom, lots of parsley, lemon juice. You could also add chick peas. Healthy, delicious and you can make ahead.

Oh good idea - if it's fairly casual, sausage (meat and vegetarian) sausage rolls are a good shout. These can be prepared and frozen in advance, and then heated in the oven when needed.

Another good option that people often forget for a buffet are some colourful bite-size crudités with a nice dip or two (could be a pre made or pre-bought hummous etc). It's nice to have something fresh and it's a gesture for health at least...

I like to to take a substantial and/or interesting salad - couscous with roasted / griddled vegetables (however you like to do it, with dressing) is nice at this time of year. Or lentil/goats cheese/beetroot with a good vinaigrette.

Assuming it needs to be cold/room temperature: quiche/ tortilla; ham/meat platter with a few pickles/chutneys on side; cheese platter with bread and fruit/jams.

If you're going to be driving there but the drive isn't long, some things in the oven work well with good resting time and then served warm rather than hot. eg a cauliflower cheese you take out of the oven as you leave?

I often make a big flat bread topped with caramelised onion, dolchelatte, prosciutto and sliced fresh fig, sprinkle with fresh rocket before serving.

Sometimes I make a red kidney bean salad for this type of thing, with spring onions, sliced olives, lots of fresh parsley, and a mayonnaise, mustard and vinegarette dressing. Simple but delicious.
