Hi
Found this on recipezaar.com:

Waffles

A basic waffle recipe. You can cook the whole batch in under 30 minutes.
6 servings
time to make 40 min 10 min prep
Change to: servings US Metric
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups milk
2 eggs (separated)
2 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter (melted)

  1. Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into mixing bowl.
  2. Beat egg yolks well and add milk, continue beating slowly adding the sifted flour mixture, beating until completely smooth.
  3. Mix in melted butter.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into batter.
  5. Cook in preheated waffle maker.
  6. Also makes great pancakes!

You could google for one....

I found this recipe but have never tried any, and have had the waffle maker in the cupboard for about 3 or 4 years!

I love waffles with syrup and cream, I really must get around to making some, I'm just too scared in case I fail miserably! Silly moo

This one seems really easy:
* Standard recipe *

Beat 2 eggs until fluffy. Then combine with:

250g self raising flour
pinch of salt
6 tablespoons of butter
380 ml milk / water / mixture of the two
1 tablespoon sugar
Stir until smooth. Ladle into waffle maker when ready, leave for 2 ½ minutes, remove and leave for 1 minute to cool.

You can also add chocolate chips to the batter, but I prefer to add these after cooking.
You do not need to use any butter or milk in the recipe if you are off dairy: water works just as well, and you can use vegetable oil or olive oil. I find this makes the waffles less sweet though, so tend to reduce the quantities if I'm using oil, and add a pinch more sugar instead.

No excuse for me not to try then, eh?

Right, I've just eaten my waffles made with the quick recipe I pasted earlier.

It says 6 tablespoons of butter and I wondered how to judge that.... it didn't occur to me until I tried to whisk the mixture that if you melt the butter and then spoon 6 tablespoons in it won't then fly out of the bowl all over the walls....

So my mixture was a bit lumpy, but I didn't notice it when eating. My maker doesn't make very thick ones but they were entirely edible and I've had my fix!

DD didn't want hers but then we're all full of cold so she's just not eating at all. I hoped that waffles would do the trick. Only choc crispies have been eaten today...

So Shitemum, which recipe have you used?
