Is Le Creuset worth it?

I love the way their products look but I'm aware they certainly come with a hefty price tag. Price aside, is this cookware worth getting? Are they still as heavy as they used to be?

I can barely lift the casserole dishes empty, let alone full of food.Confused

I don't know about other makes but I love our le Creuset dishes. We have had them for over 25 years and they are still going strong. Brilliant at long slow cooking and keeping things warm as well.

Love Le Creuset. Also love Staub.

Cast iron will always be heavy.

A cheaper pan will likely do the work just as well but over a lifetime (or longer) I think the more expensive pans do win out by quite a long way.

I’ve recently got a cast iron casserole dish from Denby and it is beautiful, although very heavy - you can use Tesco clubcard vouchers for these, as I had quite a few vouchers to use, I only had to pay £5 postage!

I bought a John Lewis copy and don't like ii at all. Slides around on the hob and the lid handle is metal so gets really hot.
Might look at Sainsbury's or Aldi but if I have the money I would prefer to stick to the real thing next time.
