How do I make another layer with this cake?

DH likes these muffins www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/spider-web-chocolate-fudge-muffins but I can hardly serve spider muffins to PIL when they come for his birthday meal!

Planning to bake as a cake rather than muffins - how do I convert cooking time to a tin?

I'd also like to make a non chocolate layer, but still want a fluffy, light cake like this one. How? Lose the chocolate, but add what?

I'm confused, so do you just want a chocolate fudge cake? I'd look for a different recipe closer to what you'd actually like

Oh! Probably I'm confused too!
I want to make a three layer sandwich cake. Choc fudge recipe above top and bottom layers but a different (but same !) in the middle layer. Want to keep the same texture as the muffin recipe which is very light and airy.

That sounds lovely! If you find a recipe or something that works make sure you post the recipe!

I don't think you'll find a cake recipe that tastes like a muffin. If it were me, and these were DH's absolute fave then I'd make them! You don't need to put the Halloween-feel icing on Grin

If you want something similar flavours but in cake texture, I'd recommend this marble cake www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2013/feb/23/dan-lepard-vanilla-chocolate-marble-cake-recipe

Could you bake it in a giant cupcake mold?

foobio · 18/11/2021 22:03

I'd just pour it into normal cake tins and bake until ready - likely to be a bit longer, just check it with a skewer every 5 mins. I'd do 1.5x the mix for a decent two layer cake.

Do you mean 1.5 for each layer or 1.5 to make
Both layers?
UniversalTruth will take a look!
