Been using my mum's enamel casserole dish for about two years. Sadly she is no longer here, died about 30 years ago. Getting into batch cooking on retirement and love the, enamel set tucked away in cupboard. Have used the 50 year plus iron saucepans ever since her death. Some sentimental value.
Just watched Dark Waters on Netflix, the banning of Teflon, pretty terrifying. Fortunately only one old Teflon frying pan, barely used and bought by me. Probably no problem as activated by heat. Issue is that the paint on the old enamel set I love might contain lead. General googling for safest cook ware as hate non stick baking trays, which never laste and was already not convinced that eating flakes was good for you.
Already avoid aluminium.
So curious as to whether others have a cookwear with sentimental value. Plus any advice on using pre 70s, when lead wasn't tested, enamel items. Feel very tempted to just keep using it.
