Air Fryer. - yes or no?

Thinking of getting an air Fryer. No kids, three adult household. Is it worth it and, if so, which one?
.Is it possible to cook two different food items at once? eg Fishfingers and chips? The ones I've seen all seem to just have a basket but surely you don't put all the food in together?

I like the idea of not having to heat up the big fan oven every time we fancy some sausages or some oven chips.

I do? We are a 2 adult 2 kid household, it is used most days. We have the Phillips one, had it for around 6 years and still going strong.

All adults here.
We use ours every day, even if it's just reheating yorkshires and roast spuds.
Ours has one basket and we put things together just at different times (15 mins for chips with fish going in for last 8 mins etc)
I didn't want it, they are quite bulky so take up worktop space. When our first one broke though I actually bought the next one I love it!
If you've a space get one. I barely use the oven now.

I've got one. Mine's a Ninja Foodi Health Fryer Grill (or something).

You can put different foods in together, but be aware that they work best when there's room for the hot air to circulate around the food. So sometimes you end up fitting less in than you'd think.

Also, stuff tends to cook most evenly if all the 'bits' are roughly a similar size. So if you've got for example a pair of 200g chicken breasts and a load of 1cm diced carrot, the carrot would be cremated by the time the chicken is done.

I like the idea of not having to heat up the big fan oven every time we fancy some sausages or some oven chips.

That is pretty much what I use mine for, to be fair. I do salmon fillets in mine quite often; they come out extremely tender and moist but with a slight crisp to the top, very nice. Ditto cod fillets.

I also use it for chips, homemade egg fried rice, chicken thighs, sausage skewers, steaks.

I've been reasonably happy with mine. It gets used two or three times a week. The ceramic coating on the basket is chipping off though, which is a bit shit after only a year. According to Ninja, it's 'normal' and 'food safe' i.e. they don't care.

thanks everyone.

I did see one model with separate baskets to put stuff in, but all the others only had one basket and I couldn't understand how that would work.

I'm very tempted to try but am worried it will take up a lot of worktop and then not get used....

I love mine! Rarely ever use the oven now and it's so much quicker and tastier.

I have the Ninja Max 5.2L which is plenty big enough to cook for the 4 of us. It has different settings like max crisp, bake, airfry.

If it's plain food like sausages, burgers, nuggets, chips, potatoes, waffles etc I chuck it all on together. Just don't overfill it won't cook everything properly. If it's flavoured food like marinated chicken or garlic bread I wouldn't put anything else with it as the flavours will go all over everything else.

We have an instant pot duo crisp so it’s an air fryer and pressure cooker in one. We cook all sorts in it - air fry stuff like chips, bacon, DD’s junk food dinner when she fancies them (chicken nuggets, waffles etc). Then I can also do other stuff like mac and cheese, risotto, bolognese, rice pudding, mash quickly. It also has a slow cooker function. I thought it would be a fad but we use it a lot. Only down side is it’s quite large (and expensive). Instant pot do a Vortex which is just an air fryer that’s also very popular.
