The recipe you bring out when you need ultimate comfort food, or to celebrate?

Mine is currently Dishoom chicken ruby and house black daal. Before that it was Korean double fried chicken.

Always on the lookout for a new blow-out recipe though!

I'll happily eat it with rice, but for me pasta is both comfort and luxury (when homemade which happens about once a year)

Oooh fried leftover cottage pie ... never thought of doing that but sounds lush 😋

Pulled pork over nachos, with melted cheese, salsa and sour cream.

Calorific but bloody amazing 🤩

Ooh this thread!

Squidgy chocolate brownies with homemade vanilla ice cream. OR Black Forest gateau OR a proper old fashioned banana split.

Comfort food is spaghetti carbonara, with the added benefit of it being ready in the time it takes to cook the pasta. More effort but delicious and good enough for a celebration is a beef massaman curry.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio. Basically spaghetti with loads of olive oil, garlic and fresh chillis. Topped with Parmesan! Absolutely lovely and totally comforting.
Also gets rid of colds at the first hint of one

I do lamb curry with homemade garlic naan, and if we're really pushing the boat out will make tikka paneer, samosas, aloo or paneer paratha and pakoras too. Lovely!

I have the Dishoom recipe book but feel tired every time I open it. All those ingredients I have to track down first!

But reading this makes me think maybe it's worth it. I might give it another go this weekend.

Current fave in this house is bbq meatballs. A real faff to make but bloody good and the children inhale them in a v satisfying manner.
