Yom Kippur breaking the fast buffet

I have been invited to a Yom Kippur breaking the fast buffet. Everyone needs to bring something, but it must be vegetarian as people have a range in how kosher they are and it is of course easier this way.

I am really looking forward to it, but would love some ideas. Currently I can only think of devilled eggs.

I'd love some ideas!

I'd check with your host & ask for suggestions.
Avoiding meat is sensible, but some guests may not be able to eat anything prepared in a non-kosher kitchen.

Some supermarkets have a kosher section - might be easier to buy something there & leave the label on for people to see.

Would something sweet work? Donuts etc tend to always go down well.

The only thing I eat yo break the fast is a piece of challah (jrewish bread) a cup of tea and homemade tomato soup 😀

I always think light foods are better. How about a feta and tomato tart

The host's brief was literally; 'bring a plate to share. No meat for obvious reasons'. !! Grin

I usually do pickled herring in sour cream and dill for buffets like this but will not risk breaking the 'no meat' plea, as it is my first time celebrating with this group. I like the sound of a lighter tart and donuts. I used to (years ago) do apple and cinammon donuts. I can hunt the recipe out, it must be somewhere....

I am fairly new to this area and have not seen any kosher sections around here- but there are some larger supermarkets further afield I can look into.

Thanks for ideas!
