If a recipe calls for sweet cider, what does it mean? Would just a standard apple cider work?

Ciders usually come in sweet, dry and extra dry so they mean one with some sweetness. I’d expect a cider that wasnt labelled sweet or dry to tend towards sweet.

Is it an American or British recipe?
It could mean alcoholic cider or just apple juice depending on source and context.

Ah sorry, didn’t see these replies! It was a recipe on bbc good food, and was a sausage recipe. We just went for a standard cider and it worked fine.

Wanttocry, usually in those cases when a recipe asks for a sweet apple cider, I prefer to add rhubarb cider because of it's taste and pretty specific flavor. It seems to be a little bit sweet, that's why I prefer to add this exact type of a cider. Although producer Crafty Nectar has some other tastes, but I still haven't tried them, so it's hard to tell, would they perfectly fit to those recipes or not.
