When you batch cook what containers do you use? I'm thinking ahead for September back to s hool and want to be more organised with food so will make some cottage pie, curry, lasagne, erm anything else I can think of and freeze but need to go get containers... pyrex?

Lasagne gets portioned into plastic tubs
Curry/chilli sauce goes into sturdy freezer bags (not very eco friendly though)

Thank you! Yes good idea with bags as can fit more it- thank you.
Do you freeze pasta/rice or just the sauces and then add?

We just freeze the sauces. Rice and pasta can be cooked while reheating the sauce.

I use the Lakeland stackable plastic ones. They fits nicely into the freezer so can get more in and find everything easily.

Although with lasagne it will have been cooked with the sauce already

Ikea does glass containers with clip on lids, they are a bit bulky but great for microwave or oven reheating, espcially for stuff I want to brown on top.

Pyrex do rectangular glass ones with plastic lids which stack brilliantly in the freezer/cupboard.

I wash and reuse Lurpak tubs and Carte d’Or ice cream tubs.

Lasagne- I have pyrex dishes with lids so I assemble it, cool down and put in the freezer. Usually take it out of the freezer the night before it’s scheduled to be eaten

Second IKEA 365 pyrex tubs

I use the Luxury and Grace (I got mine from Amazon) glass containers with the little steam spout they are fantastic,

@FrenchBoule same here!
Icecream tubs and Indian takeaway plastic boxes for curry, bolognese, ratatouille etc in family meal portions.
I only buy/ keep similar size boxes so they stack when not in use.

I ran out of smaller containers so now use Jam jars for 1-2 person servings (kids club evenings).

Pyrex type dishes with plastic lids for lasagne, pasta bake.

Just to say, freezer bags and ziplock bags can be washed and hung on the line to dry. I just put them into a drawer then for next time.
