9 month old solid meals

Hello - really trying not to rely on sachet food for my 9 month old as I'd rather make my own and it's also so expensive. That said I keep using them for ease.

Any ideas of nice and healthy meals I could make that are easy to prep and store if I did a batch?

Can baby not eat what you are eating? DD just ate our meals with us from the start of weaning at 6 months. Takes a lot of the hassle out of having to prepare different meals at different times? Is it any meal time in particular you are struggling with?

For lunches, pasta salads would keep in the fridge for a few days, quiches with or without crust can be frozen and defrosted easily. I make up little banana muffins, porridge bars and savoury flapjacks to supplement lunches too.

For teas, vegetable curries are nice and easy to make and reheat. Little vegetable packed cottage pies or portions of bolognaise. Fish pies are nice and nutritious.

I do spag Bol with grated courgette and carrot, basically what we have but I just make more and freeze a few each time!
Curry, small fish pies, casseroles xx

Lovely recipes onbbc good food if you search weaning! DD is just about to hit 6 months so haven't tried with her yet but they've gone down great with the rest of us

If you want to batch cook for her, try some things like:

Blueberry pancakes - a great breakfast and very portable.

Savoury Muffins - good for lunch with some veg, raw or cooked.

Chicken Korma - you get to eat it as well Smile

The sauce for spag bol.

Fish Pie

Tuna Fishcakes

At 9 months she can also have things like Ready Brek with chopped banana added or toast with smooth nut butter for breakfast.

For lunch she'll be fine with things like:

one egg omelette

Sandwiches with halved cherry tomatoes or halved grapes.

Cheese on toast or eggy bread.

What kinds of things are you having for Dinner/Tea OP?

I've made lots of these www.nhs.uk/start4life/weaning/recipes-and-meal-ideas/or I do Salt free versions of what we have like risotto. You can buy zero salt stock cubes from knorr now too.

Link again because I typed on the end of it! www.nhs.uk/start4life/weaning/recipes-and-meal-ideas/

We just all ate the same. Just don't cook with salt and add it after you've served up baby's portion. Makes life a lot easier if you aren't cooking separate meals!

Thank you so much for all of your replies - only just getting chance to reply but some great ideas on here

I think I am more worried as my baby is a late teether so we are still just gums at the moment! that said, seems to be ok with some of the more solid options
