Glass cook and freezer containers

I’ve had a set of Pyrex type containers for years (decades) but the lids have started to go and I can’t find new to fit the current containers.

I’ve ordered and returned three sets now.

I just want a couple of packs of dishes I can batch cook in and stick straight into the freezer. I want them to nest together when they aren’t in use for easy storage. I want them to stack neatly in my fridge or freezer when they are in use.

Family/4 portion, double portion or single portion size all acceptable. It’s the nesting I seen stuck on.

Has anyone bought anything recently that fits the bill?

Following! I also want them to be dishwasher-safe, including the lids.

We have some from IKEA(oven & freezer proof glass dish with plastic lid), they are stackable but can chip around the edges if knocked about too much www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/ikea-365-food-container-with-lid-square-glass-plastic-s39269120/

@CheeseMaiden I haven’t thought about IKEA. Worth a try.

Would you say the one litre one would do a four person (two adults two small children) lasagna? (Just trying to get a feel for dimensions)

On the dimensions, check the water volume your current ones take for a comparison.

They wouldn't stack in the screener until frozen but have you considered the silicone lids? They stretch to appropriate size.

The Ikea ones are brilliant. It's the 365+ range. There are several shapes and sizes, I have loads for batch cooking and freezing.

Hi @AvantGardening, I’m really not sure (sorry)! We have the deeper squareish ones which we use for storing home made yogurt and soups.

If you buy them in store (rather than online) give them a good check over first, we ended up with some chipped around the edges- still usable but it was too much faff to return them

I've had these for almost 2 decades but clear lids not blue. . www.amazon.co.uk/Pyrex-Cook-Fresh-Rectangular-Storage/dp/B0771Q9NJ1/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=pyrex+cook+and+fresh&sprefix=pyrex+cook&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1627057376&sr=8-2

Wouldn't be without them! But as pp said, silicone universal lids would probably work with your current containers to save buying all new when you just need new lids.

Oh I hadn’t thought about silicone lids. I think I’d still need some new for fridge stacking but an excellent suggestion to extend the life of the current ones. Thank you

Another vote for the IKEA ones. They come in various sizes and I like the fact you can have the silicone lids for the oven and then the plastic clip on lids for the freezer.
