Dinner Party for 10

Hi - haven't been on here for ages due to moving house to the other side of the country but was just wondering what anyone thought of these recipe ideas for a dinner party for 10.
Bear in mind that I've chosen a cold starter and dessert for ease reasons.

starter - watermelon, blue cheese and pecan nuts on a bed of rocket salad with balsamic dressing.(copied from a restaurant I once went to)

main - grilled salmon with a savory lemon sauce served with baby roast pots, green beans and julienne carotts

dessert (or should I have put desert - I never spell it correctly!)- softened vanilla ice cream with pieces of turkish delight mixed in, then refrozen and served slightly softened with a warm fudge sauce. (Gary Rhodes does this one and thought it looked tasty yet simple.)

That's it - what do you reckon? Thanks in advance.

All in all sounds delicious.....hint...can I come, lol!
However, I know a lot of people who are less then keen on Blue cheese...so, for that reason I probably would do a different starter...

thank you 3andnomore - good point about the blue cheese - perhaps I'll ask if they all eat it and if some don't I'll substitute it with something else.

Menu sounds wonderful and very well balanced - do you have room for one more guest?! Feta cheese works well with watermelon if you wanted to give people a choice. I love blue cheese, so would really enjoy it but agree with 3andnomore.

Sounds lovely and I would have a feast but DH doesn't like fish so he would find the main course difficult! Does souns fab though mmmm

sounds lovely, but I too wouldn't serve blue cheese for 10 as there are bound to be some who won't eat it. I would also check that all 10 are fish eaters. Also with that number I always opt for a soup for starter as I simply don't have enough fridge and work top space to plate up 10 starters comfortably in advance allowing me to focus on the main but you know your kitchen and abilities best! can I come?!

Thanks guys - I actually thought everyone would say what a dodgy sounding dessert! My friend last night said it sounded weird.
I will have a hot apple streudel though if people don't like turkish delight.

Try pecorino or something sheepy like that instead of blue

Sounds like my ideal feast! Room for a small one???.....

so you don't all think that the turkish delight/ice cream thing sounds weird and yukky?
