How can I 'de-spice' my korma sauce

Have made a chicken korma (in advance, for tomorrow) and followed usual recipe. Having tasted it, whilst it is yummy (to the adult palate) my hand must have slipped a bit when putting the 2tsps of chili in it and the taste of chili whilst no where near having you reach for a decanter or water, is discernble and will deter my children from eating it after the first mouthful.

So, is this recoverable? How I can dilute the chili 'bite'?

cream ? Natural yoghurt ?

discernible

Ah it has cream and natural yog in it anyway, so if you think it will work I guess there is no harm in adding a bit more of these two (although worried about getting an overly sloppy sauce)

more yoghurt

You coudl try adding potato, app they soak up excess salt so it might work with chilli too. If not then more yoghourt or cream.

I did the same last week and no amount off yoghurt and coconut cream made any difference - dd's took one bite and declared it as 'hurty'! Good luck.

Grate in more creamed coconut

LucyLasticBand · 20/11/2007 22:29

coconut i would ahve said.

Yes Jenkywoo I can imagine!, mine will probably say it 'stings'.

Will try more of coconut cream, cream and yog to see if it can be salvaged. Thanks

Added yog & cream this morning (had kept it in fridge overnight - its for this evening's dinner). Does seem to have watered down the chili 'bite' so fingers crossed
