Can i sustitute icing sugar for anything?

I want to make biscuits but i have no caster sugar and its cold and raining and the shop is soooooooooo far away! Can i use any other sugar instead?

Yes, any sugar will be fine. Granulated if you've got it.

I would use granulated not icing

granulated sugar in the blender - voila, caster sugar! if you can be bothered, if not use granulated - for biscuits will be fine but not ideal for sponge-type cakes but still works.

Granulated, can give you pin prinks on the top. As the grains are larger. Which won't effect the taste atall but does effect on the look of a dish.

But you can pop granulated in a food processer and pulse it it becomes caster suger very quickly!
