Freezing mash?

I know frozen mash is available in the shops, but has anyone made their own and does it work?
I have veg which needs using. I always do a mix of veg for my mash so currently I have potatoes, carrots and cauli boiling away which I know works well fresh.
Should I freeze the excess?
Thanks!

Yes it works fine.

Agree. You can freeze mash no problem.

I do it all the time.

Like pasta, I either make not nearly enough, or enough to feed the street. Freezing it in bags is brilliant for the times I don't make enough when I'm doing a shepherds pie. I just pop a bag the size of roughly how much I need into the microwave on defrost and finish off topping the pie. You can't tell what is freshly made and what was frozen.

Yes, it's perfect once thoroughly reheated. Don't be put off if it separates or doesn't look right while it defrosts or starts warming. It will come together when hot, but may need a dash more milk or water.

Yes, it works. I find it works better if you open freeze scoops of it for a little, then pop it all into a bag as soon as frozen. Then you can just chuck it in an ovenproof dish from frozen whilst your other food cooks (about 30 minutes). Might need to give it a stir.

I freeze in ziplock bags pressed flat with all the sir removed. Then I can whack it on the worktop to crack it and take the portions I want. Freeze it plain to avoid so many ice crystals and then season/add milk/butter/garlic olive oil after defrosting.
