What do you have for dinner on a Saturday night?

My family have always had a takeaway every Saturday night (and often on a Sunday night too) since I was a little girl, often Indian, fish and chips or kebab on a Saturday and Chinese on a Sunday, if not Chinese on a Sunday then freezer food or we'd eat out. I am the eldest of 4 kids and Mum always felt that the weekends was her days off being in the kitchen.
Now that I have my own dd1 (15 months) and don't live at home anymore I am a lot more conscious about what we eat and during the week I make everything from scratch with lots of veg etc. We barely ever have freezer food and I don't even use jars or packets. I had never known how to cook before moving out, so I'm really proud that I now make healthy homemade meals for us every night.
Thing is we often go round to my Mum and Dads on a Saturday night so I end up having the normal takeaway they're having and then I prepare something quick and healthy for dd1 to eat, usually some pasta with veggies.
My family think I'm being overly cautious with what I give my daughter to eat, and think a takeaway every weekend is normal, they think at 15 months she's fine to have the same takeaway we're having and jokingly call me a 'food snob'.
So I'm interested to know, what are your average Saturday night and Sunday night dinners?
Is a takeaway or two every weekend normal?
And what would a good weekend alternative treat be? I agree with my Mum that I don't want to be cooking weekday meals on a weekend but something more nutritious than a takeaway would be good!

Saturday is always something that requires a bit more effort or costs more than an average mid-week meal. This weekend we had monkfish kebabs. It's usually something along those line, like a 'fakeaway'

Sunday is always a roast dinner.

I don’t think more than one takeaway is the norm? But maybe that’s me!

Growing up we had chippy once or twice a month on a saturday but very rarely any other type as it was too expensive. As adults, my parents only have any other kind of takeaway now on birthdays etc, probably about 6-7 times a year!

My niece who is the same age as your DD - she would never have a takeaway on its own for a meals! She may get a couple of chips/prawn crackers and to taste the odd thing, but she would have age appropriate food.

I go through phases of having one on a weekend, but at the mo trying to cut it out. On a Saturday I Tend to have the same as in the week - mostly roasted veg, chicken (usually with teriyaki/hoisin/chowmein sauce, but home made!) and rice or noodles, or sweet potato maybe. I might chuck in some garlic bread too.
