Gluten free picnic

I need to sort out a picnic with one guest being gluten free. Hot gluten free I’ve got pretty good at over the years, cold I’m finding trickier. I was hoping to do finger food but now think I’ll add a few salads for variety. She’s not got a sweet tooth so I’m focusing on the savoury. I prefer things I can make myself as I find a lot of shop bought gf inferior. Bonus points for things that are naturally gf. That said I’m considering a puff pastry tart with gf just roll as I don’t fancy taking on gf puff myself. Or I might just do a fritata.
So far I have
Crudités and tortilla chips (plenty of gf options there) with dips.
Lemon and herb chicken skewers
Maybe a selection of cheeses?
Roasted butternut squash, red onion and pepper, jewelled cous cous salad
A yoghurt dressed potato salad
Watermelon, feta and mint salad.
Any more ideas?

The butternut squash salad is quinoa not cous cous

That sounds a lovely selection.
How about some crackers - gluten free ritz equivalent or cheese crackers? Available in all supermarkets.
I know you mention she hasn’t got a sweet tooth but it sounds like you have other guests and you are making all/most of it gluten free?
If so maybe make some dark chocolate brownies,
I’d recommend the doves farm original recipe which is easily found on their website. The brownies travel well.

Olives
Selection of small tomatoes
Or large tomatoes sliced with mozzarella and basil

Basil, tomato and mozzarella salad?

How about mini frittatas like these?

You need "how to make anything gluten free". Its a fab cookbook with GF sausage rolls (million miles away from bought ones) and scotch.eggs. look on gluten free cuppa tea.

I do like a frittata for picnics - caramelized onion is a particular favourite. Cooked mini sausages, esp done in honey mustard or with chutney I love. The M&S cocktail sausages are GF, but many brands are these days, I just haven't looked since christmas
Home made coleslaw

Can I advise checking the packets of everything. I can’t eat the quinoa from Tesco for example, because it’s processed in a factory that also processes wheat, so it’s not gluten free due to cross contamination.

My dad loves M&S gluten free 'bits' (pork pies etc)
My mum makes scotch eggs with gluten free breadcrumbs (and sausage meat obviously!).

Sounds excellent to me! Just be wary of shop bought dips, a lot of them contain barely malt which strict GF can't have.

Thanks for this, I’ll definitely check the quinoa. I knew M&S sausages were gf, don’t know why I didn’t think of them, thanks! I tend to make my own dips as I prefer them to the shop bought ones. I’ll definitely check out gf cuppa tea too!
