Does she have milk when she wakes? If so I would start giving water or nothing so its not worth waking up for.

we did the gina ford thing and found it worked but i think some people regard her as rather evil in her "routines". agree with jc that if she doesn't get milk when she wakes, then it will hopefully discourage her from waking up. same applies to cuddles and conversations... but i am afraid that veers towards the gina ford thinking again

I have been told by hv to give water tried it for 4 nights and she woke more so was wondering if daytime routine was anything to do with it.....what time do u feed ur lo's during the day and what do they have and amounts etc?

Gina ford wrote a book called contented little baby and she has loads and loads of experience as a maternity nurse. As csa said some people find her routine very very strict but frankly for me, i used the timings and food elements to the letter tee and missed out the really strict matronly c* and it worked a treat with my ds1 am just about to start it with ds2 as he is 11 weeks and still waking twice through the night. The basic principal is to ensure that you only get up once in the night and then you can phase that one out. I would recommend it but if your not into the strictness i found i could get away with not adhering to all her rules!!! HTH

ello all
I'm hoping for advice on guiding my 2 wk old into a routine.
I used CLB for my son and it worked liked a dream, he slept through from 7wks and is a real clockwork baby at 2 and a half.
My daughter was born at 6lb 10oz, 2lbs lighter than my son, and is far more erratic than he ever was.
I'm happy to let her lead the way while she's a wee thing but hope to get her into CLB routines soon.
At the moment she sleeps for almost the whole day and she's wide awake from 7pm and likes to snack from 5pm to 9pm, which means she's not up for a good feed at 10pm and is awake through the night.
She's also very windy and I'm worried I'm overfeeding her - on a good day she is fed at 7am, 10am, 2pm, 5pm, 6.15pm, 10.30pm and 3am and she takes 4/5oz at each feed, she's now 6lb 14oz.
Does anyone have any advice? Thanks
