I have a yen for some chicken wings that a mate left here, but they are mouth scaldingly hot. How can I calm them? Salt?

yoghurt?

mishymoo · 12/11/2007 22:48

Sugar? Not sure if it would work with chicken wings though?? Sorry not more helpful!

Heathcliffscathy · 12/11/2007 22:49

creme fraiche

colditz · 12/11/2007 22:51

How about a sweetish sauce?

Would it be criminal to use mayonaise?

colditz · 12/11/2007 22:52

No, you don't understand, i want to gobble them nowwww, I have no fancy things to dollop, it's salt, ketchup, mayonaise or lea and perins! LOL

Milk is best.

Spidermama · 12/11/2007 22:53

Full cream mlk. Or butter. It needs to be something fatty.

Why are you scoffing at this late hour?

colditz · 12/11/2007 22:54

hmmm, milk, eh?

Don't be a wuss - just eat them!

AitchTwoOh · 12/11/2007 22:54

not criminal, no. revolting, but needs sometimes must.

have you thought about giving them a wipe with some kitchen roll?

colditz · 12/11/2007 22:54

Because4 I am a greedy pig who hardly ever gets to eat chinese food, and chilli chicken wings with onions is too much for me to resist!

OP posts:
colditz · 12/11/2007 22:56

I can't6 just eat them, my lips will fall off. there's onions in there too, that I want to eat but can't because they will hurt!

pointydog · 12/11/2007 22:59

lots and lots of mayonnaise

but you might then be sick

BecauseImWorthIt · 12/11/2007 22:59

Call yourself a -man- woman?

Gird those loins and dive straight in. Alcohol is very good for cooling chilli, so suggest you have a lovely cold lager ready and waiting!

controlfreaky2 · 12/11/2007 22:59

get them down you..... with glugs of milk to wash them down / put the fire out....

BecauseImWorthIt · 12/11/2007 22:59

or even man

Carmenere · 12/11/2007 23:02

Brush them with honey and bake them in the oven until they are really, really hot.

Carmenere · 12/11/2007 23:02

In fact you could rinse them first too.

colditz · 12/11/2007 23:03

done, gone, gobbled down and washed down with milk.

Didn't even shake all the chilli seeds off (the whole dish is covered.)

Gave up on the onions though

My mouth is aflame.

OP posts:
colditz · 12/11/2007 23:03

They had this batter stuff on, or I would have rinsed them.

There were only 3, not really worth switching the oven on for.

OP posts:
pointydog · 12/11/2007 23:04

you'll regret it in the night

WendyWeber · 12/11/2007 23:05

LOL at toffee-flavoured yogurt with chicken wings.

colditz! surely you only buy plain Rachel's organic?

colditz · 12/11/2007 23:09

yes, funnily enough I do only buy rachel's poncy organic, but somehow by the time I get home they have turned into Tesco Low Fat Yoghurts, 17p a pop.

Ds1 won't eat yoghurt with bits in
