whats the difference between a banana tea bread and a banana cake?

no, it's not gonna be a joke lol

have made a one or the other from a recipe i copied down from mumsnet ages and ages ago. it's for a charity cake bake thing tomorrow at school.

don't know what to call it though!

so whats the difference??

in that case just call it banana loaf - people can decide for themselves whether to butter it or not

(as a guide, if you rub the butter into the flour it's probably teabread, if you beat the butter with the sugar it's most likely a cake)

I have a recipe for banana loaf and you need to beat the butter and sugar together - so is the loaf.

It is really tasty and I will print the recipe up here if you like?
