Will my Christmas cakes be OK?

I made Christmas cakes as presents for some relatives back in Nov. However, due to not seeing them as a result of lockdown, they are sitting in my spare room. They are Delia's Creole Christmas cakes and are pretty loaded with booze.

They are covered with marzipan and icing and set on a cake stand and wrapped in cellophane.

I do intend on giving them to my relatives when I see them in the next 3 months. I am just wondering if you think they are OK?

Cut into one of them and try it, and while you are at it, pass us a slice

Should be absolutely fine. Keep them covered, in the dark, and in a cool place. Doesn't need to be in the fridge, but equally not near central heating or lead fluctuations of temperature.

Alternatively, eat them now Grin

I don't actually like Christmas cake myself. I can manage a slice at Christmas with a cup of tea.

They are presents. I make them every year and they go down well. I may take off the decorations and put on some Easter bunnies.

If in doubt add some more brandy.
