Curry recipe needs double cream but I only have single?

Does it matter that much?
I’ve got some marscapone if that might be better?

It’s just the Patak’s jar of tikka masala paste recipe that I’m using.

TIA

Will be fine
I’d go for the single cream rather than the mascarpone.
You could put in slightly less if you’re worried about it being runny.
Full fat yogurt also works

Or add a teaspoonful of cornflour mixed in 2 tablespoonsful of water in to the curry sauce if you think its too thin

I'd be tempted to use the mascarpone. The problem with single cream is it is prone to curdling (unlike double) when you add it to something hot, or acidic like tomatoey sauce etc.

I would add it cautiously, after you've taken it off the heat. The fat content means it's not as stable as double and it might curdle.
Do you have any coconut milk? That would work better as a substitute.

I cook this a lot. Would def use single if you don't have double - I've done it a few times.

Thank you all
Single cream went in but a tad too spicy for my husband’s liking so I topped it up with some natural yoghurt.
End result gets the thumbs up
