Help me choose new appliances, mixer, blender etc

I'm a keen home cook & currently have the following:
Nutri ninja, gets a lot of use for smoothies
Braun hand blender with attachments (16 years old)
Electric whisk (25 years old)
Kenwood Chef (60 years old) with dough hook, K beater & whisk
In the last couple of weeks the nutri ninja has broken & the braun hand blender. So we're left with 2 working but v old appliances & probably can afford to replace all at a push, but would prefer not to get 4 separate appliances. I would love advice about what to get as it's so long since I've had anything new, I want to get it right

Sorry I'll be no help at all. I'm just amazed that your Kenwood is 60 years old. Surely you win some sort of MN badge? Grin

electric pressure cooker/slow cooker like the Sage Fast and slow. A multifunctional machine which is a great aid and an essential for rice cooking.

A vitamix or similar heavy duty blender. useful for more than just smoothie making (nut butters, quick pesto, soups, frozen cocktails)

A Magimix or similar food processor.

The above three plus my mixer are used quite frequently in my kitchen, and my kitchen routine would be significantly affected if any one of them was gone.

You will never find as good quality as your old pieces imo. So only replace the.broken ones

NotMeNoNo · 23/02/2021 07:30

I bought an old 1960s Kenwood chef to see whether it was a useful thing to own before getting a new one. It works perfectly, one of similar quality would be £££ new.
. To be honest I think sometimes separate appliances that do their job properly are better value.

The modern appliances broke and the old ones still work. There's a warning there!

Kenwood chefs are amazing, we brought a new one 8 years ago, has had a lot of use, still going strong, well built machines, your lovely vintage one will last a lifetime OP, I wouldn’t replace it, if I was you.

I would stick with different appliances as they all do different things well. For the stick blender, get a Bamix, don’t replace the Kenwood until it breaks.

I would still consider a stand alone blender as well as a stick blender, though I use the blender on my Chef.

Thanks to all of you for your replies, really helpful. The 1960s kenwood is one that has been passed around the family. After your comments, I will stick with it & concentrate on the other two things. The blender gets so much use, but ooh bamix...... Maybe that's an alternative to the Braun. I will have a look

Okay so I've definitely decided bamix is the way forward and so am now looking at blenders. Massive price range and so many different features. Definitely going to stick with the kenwood.
