It all started the day she was born.
she was on the boob all day, gaining humungus amounts of weight.

when i moved to ff for emergency reasons which i shall not explain here (something to do with nipples falling off and various abscesses, midwives called her 'the cannibal', she was draining 8 ounce bottles pretty much from the start. (but blissfully slept through from 8 weeks old!)

As a baby she'd eat bowls and bowls of pureed veg and fruit and was a top of the centile charts baby. I never allowed her to have any sort of fatty food as was concerned about weight.

NOW at 2.5 she doesnt stop eating.
for eg today she's had:

breakfast: a boiled egg, hearty bowl of porridge, slice of toast.

midmorning snack: an apple, a banana, a pear and a tangerine

lunch: large plate of tuna pasta and bowl of salad

snack: raisins and glass of milk

dinner: two roasted chicken legs and helping of boiled rice

bedtime she begged me for toast, so i only let her have one slice.

she could have eaten heaps more but i had to restrain her. if i let her she would have eaten more. i dont know what to do as she comes to me saying 'mama i'm hungwwwy' and looks genuinely needy (or am i just spoiling her). her appetite is so huge its notorious. i am worried about childhood obesity etc. she doesnt look 'obese', just very tall and slightly on the chunky side. should i be really worried?

Sounds fine to me.

What does she weigh and how tall is she?

Please don't make food an issue at such a young age. Their tummies are so small still and they burn off calories a lot quicker than we do.

My son is 2 and 4 months and weighs nearly 2.5 stone.

sounds great - all very healthy

My friend's DD once ate more lunch than my 2 DSs put together - she was 2 and my DSs were 3 and 4 - I couldn't believe it but then when I thought about it, I realised that DS2 ate like a horse when he was that age.

He doesn't anymore - for dinner tonight, he had one small jacket spud and some carrots
