Does bulgur taste similar to quinoa?

Recently I have a digestion problem. I'm thinking I will try more salads and vegetarian dishes that do not use oil that much. I find quinoa delicious to eat with other salad ingredients. I use vegetable stock when I cook it. I was looking for a similar ingredient to quinoa when I found bulgur. I have never tried it. I'm wondering about the taste. Could anyone tell me what it tastes like and whether I can cook it with vegetable or chicken stock like I do with quinoa? Is it easy to digest?

It doesn't really taste of anything, though if pushed I'd prefer it to quinoa as there's a bit more texture. Why not just try it and see?

No - I think it has more flavour than quinoa. Agree with pp - just try it and see if you get on with it

Dd likes it. She also likes quinoa and cous cous.

I like both and like them mixed together. Bulgur is a bigger, coarser grain and less nutty / more buttery than quinoa.

Try buckwheat

Buckwheat has a really strong flavour - quite sweet and definitely marmite in that you love it or hate it.

@Countdowntonothing

Is bulga wheat a different thing from bulgur wheat? Or is it just a different name in a different country? I'm not trying to passively aggressive bring up a spelling error or anything; I'm just trying to find out if there is another, different thing to try.

It just tastes like wheat, smells similar to pasta or couscous. I like the texture and it’s easy to cook (though in my experience you do have to cook it for a few minutes, you can't just pour boiling water on it like couscous).

Same thing. I've seen bulgur and bulgar (haven't seen bulga before) which are derived from Turkish. You might also see burghul which comes from Arabic.
