Lemon curd - what to do with it?

I made a lot of lemon curd. I’m thinking of making some scones to have with it. Possibly have it with crêpes tomorrow...what else can I do with lemon curd? Looking for foolproof ideas.

TIA

Fill a Swiss roll. God I miss my DMIL'a Swiss rolls. I'm actually drooling just thinking about them Smile

i love it through plain yogurt, or on a pavlova

Also in a plain swiss roll with whipped cream.

OR if you have no fear for your waistline make lemon cheesecake toast, buttered toast, philly, lemoncurd drizzled over. Plus a black coffee.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful suggestions! 🍋

My fave is add to warm scones and clotted cream..or spread over a sponge cake..inside a lemon meringue roulade..yummmmmmmm

We make individual tart cases and store in a tin, fill with lemon curd as we want them. Pastry stays crisper that way. Lemon curd should keep for at least 4 weeks in a cool place (or in the fridge) if the jars are sealed.

Send it to me. I love lemon curd. I'd bathe in it if I could ❤️

Eat it out of the jar, with a spoon.

Or, make this: www.maryberry.co.uk/recipes/desserts/heavenly-lemon-cheesecake-on-a-ginger-crust

Ok, I’m making lemon curd now, so that I can eat this! Alternative is curd and cream cheese on a digestive biscuit - I do this usually with berries instead of curd

Lemon drizzle cake!

Delia all in one sponge recipe, add 2 tbsp lemon curd, zest of a lemon, juice of half a lemon, and an extra ounce of flour to balance it out.

Topping is the juice of a lemon and a load of sugar.

Bliss

allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/26168/easy-lemon-curd-cake.aspx Made this a few months ago. Delicious. Better than a normal lemon drizzle cake.

KitKat1985 · 23/01/2021 20:58

It's lovely on a toasted fruit loaf.

I made a gorgeous lemon cheesecake today with half a jar of lemon curd.

newtb · 28/01/2021 20:39

In the middle of a chocolate cake
As a child I used to eat it in a sandwich with Cheshire cheese

Hersetta427 · 12/05/2021 21:02

Lemon cheesecake

newtb · 14/05/2021 06:28

Put a good spoonful on top of the cream in a choux bun

Lovely with chocolate sponge as well as ordinary sponge

Paul Hollywood has a good recipe for lemon drizzle cake with lemon curd as an ingredient.

Lemon curd tarts are delicious.

I would just eat it with a spoon Wink

Lemon Bakewell!

chatw0o0 · 14/05/2021 07:10

Oh yum, lemon curd... takes me back to having it in a sandwich as a kid! Not the best ideal really Grin.

It's lovely in tarts as well, and very straightforward... or jazz it up with a bit of meringue on the top. I might have to buy some now!

Ooh, good idea!

Lemon soufflé - I'd forgotten how gorgeous omit is - you use the lemon curd as a base and pretty much just whisk up egg whites and add to the curd www.deliaonline.com/recipes/main-ingredient/lemons-limes-and-oranges/hot-lemon-curd-souffles like this one but you don't have to make the curd at the beginning - it's so yum and decadent (not to mention impressive - but also easy!)

LeanneBrownsLonelyBraincell · 15/05/2021 08:08

Digestive biscuits, cream cheese then lemon curd.

Eat with strawberries if you can be bothered

GnomeOrMistAndIceGuy · 15/05/2021 08:11

I have it for breakfast on top of a bowl of plain Skyr and chopped strawberries - heaven.
Also I make a nice sponge cake with lemon rind, then use fresh cream and chopped strawberries as the filling. A drizzle of lemon curd in the filling would be beaut!
